About Cristóbal Mata
From a very young age, I was interested in video game and app development, so experimenting with it became my main hobby. This made me point my future to the Software Engineering degree.
Back in 2012, while I was studying at the University of Jaén, I started to build the Jaén-based video game studio known as GuGames Development. In its early days, it was called GuGames DEV and only offered non-profit products, but it established future sagas (specifically Dunpets and Stories of Bethem).

In 2014, GuGames DEV began to take shape: the free video game Dungeon Pets (Dungeonpets saga) gained a significant following and was featured in some media. This led me to participate in several video game fairs in Andalusia, where I met other people in that industry.
Whether as testers, advertising, helping out at exhibitions, or directly pushing me to make it a reality, many friends collaborated with GuGames DEV so GuGames Development became a professional studio in 2015 with the release of Stories of Bethem: Full Moon on Steam and shortly after on Xbox One and mobile platforms.
More projects followed, such as Spoorky or the canceled Dunpets Colors in collaboration with the brilliant Miriam Pérez as a graphic artist (also the creator of the covers for Stories of Bethem and Spoorky) and Albert Fernández as a composer.

In 2019, I began my new adventure working for other software development companies, where I continue still, focusing primarily on technologies such as PHP, Ruby (Rails), C# (.NET Framework) and Angular, among others. This led to the ending of GuGames Development.
Although no longer related to video games, during this last stage I have continued developing my own projects for two reasons: to keep learning and to satiate my passion for creating products. This is how cmata.dev was born, a place to give visibility to old projects, but also to new ones to come.
